Neurodegenerative disorders associated with genes of mitochondria

چکیده

Abstract Background Over the last decade, aggregating evidences suggested that there is a causative link between mutation in gene associated with mitochondrial dysfunction and development of several neurodegenerative disorders. Main text Recent structural functional studies genes have shown abnormalities possibly lead to dysfunction. Several on animal models diseases provided compelling evidence mitochondria involved initiation as well progression such Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s (AD), Huntington’s (HD), Friedreich ataxia (FA). Conclusion In this mini-review, we discussed different etiologic pathogenesis connected relevant underlie dominant part its progress.

Managing anxiety associated with neurodegenerative disorders

Anxiety is a common symptom among patients with cognitive impairment. The presence of anxiety is correlated with poorer outcomes; despite this, there is limited research on anxiety related to neurodegenerative disorder. In this article, we discuss the prevalence of anxiety and factors involved in the etiology of anxiety in patients with diagnosed neurodegenerative disorders and related states o...

Mitochondria dysfunction and neurodegenerative disorders: cause or consequence.

Mitochondria are crucial regulators of energy metabolism and apoptotic pathways and have been closely linked to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders. In this review we mainly focus on mitochondrial dysfunction in two of the most prevalent neurological disorders: Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. We discuss whether the role of mitochondria in those diseases should be consid...

Vitamin E and neurodegenerative disorders associated with oxidative stress.

Several neurodegenerative disorders are associated with oxidative stress that is manifested by lipid peroxidation, protein oxidation and other markers. Included in these disorders in which oxidative stress is thought to play an important role in their pathogenesis are Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), tardive dyskinesia, Huntington's diseas...

Exploring Mitochondria in Neurodegenerative Diseases

in Neurodegenerative Diseases contains an impressive overview of the role of mitochon-drial dysfunction as the primary effector of, or relevant mechanism leading to, neurodegeneration. In the 26 Mitochondria and Free Radicals in Neurodegenerative chapters featured in this book, the authors guide the Diseases reader from the basic concepts of mitochondrial function and free radical generation to...

Database of neurodegenerative disorders

UNLABELLED A neurological disorder is a disorder caused by the deterioration of certain nerve cells called neurons. Changes in these cells cause them to function abnormally, eventually bringing about their death. In this paper we present a comprehensive database for neurodegenerative diseases, a first-of-its kind covering all known or suspected genes, proteins, pathways related to neurodegenera...
